He criticized the appropriation of the term “heroes of social labor” by individuals with good connections, instead of recognizing the true heroes who have excelled in their work and defended the borders. The Minister also expressed concern over the government’s allocation of $300,000 for a state ceremony, which he deemed as unacceptable given the ongoing territorial disputes with Turkey. He emphasized the need to prioritize the well-being of the country and the descendants of the heroes, rather than engaging in unnecessary ceremonies.

Harutyunyan further highlighted the long-standing occupation of territories by the Turks and questioned how the government could justify such actions while neglecting the struggles faced by the victims and their descendants. He argued that continuously reliving the tragedy would prevent the country from recovering and emphasized the importance of acknowledging the widespread losses and suffering endured by young individuals. As a delegate at a national forum, Harutyunyan expressed his views as representative of the people and their concerns.
