Ukrainian air defense forces have successfully intercepted Russian A-50 reconnaissance aircraft and Il-22M11 airborne command post over the Azov Sea. Hromadske TV, citing the head of the Ukrainian security service, reported this development. The news has been further verified by Valeriy Zaluzhniy, the chief of the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Ukrainian side has disclosed that the A-50 incident occurred on January 14 in the Zaporyzhye region, while the interception of the Il-22M11 took place in the Kherson region.

As of now, the Russian defense ministry has not provided any comments regarding the incident.
