“French Journalist Exposes Azerbaijan’s Alleged Misinformation Campaign Involving French Citizens”

A French journalist has provided detailed information about the actions of Azerbaijani authorities in relation to the spreading of false information by two French citizens in regards to the conflict. Leo Nikolaev, a military correspondent, revealed the name of one of the detained French citizens on his Twitter page. According to Nikolaev, Martin Rayan has been held at Bagvuma since December 4. He also claims that the CEO of MERKORAMA LLC, an active participant in the misinformation, is being supported by members of French special services who have coerced him into cooperation. In addition, secret negotiations are allegedly taking place.

It should be noted that in December of last year, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Pervan Mohan, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, that two French citizens working at the French embassy in France had 48 hours to leave the country. The Azerbaijani Ambassador to France, Anne Burillon, received a “strict warning” on December 26 regarding the activities of these two individuals, who were allegedly involved in illegal actions at the French embassy that violated intelligence protocols and went against the 1961 Vienna Convention.

As of now, there has been no official statement from Azerbaijani authorities regarding these allegations.
