“Emergency Service Issues Warning: Closed and Challenging Roads Ahead in Armenia – Plan Your Routes Carefully!”

The Republic of Armenia’s emergency service is warning drivers of closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within its territory. Starting from January 15th, repair works will commence on the M-6 highway, which connects the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway. This will result in a closure of approximately 38-40 kilometers of the road for buses, trucks, and other loaded vehicles. Drivers are advised to take a detour through the city of Noyemberyan. Additionally, roads leading to Amberd mountain from the Aragatsotn region and Karilich Lake are closed.

It is also worth noting that the Vardenyats Pass poses difficulties for loaded vehicles, and drivers are advised to use tire chains when passing through. However, the Stepanakert-Lars highway remains open for all types of transport. Both the NSS AI Department of Disaster Management of Armenia and the Russian Southern Caucasus Joint Peacekeeping Centre have confirmed this information.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution while driving in snowy conditions and to stay informed about any potential road closures or hazardous weather conditions. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring you the latest news from Armenia.
