According to military expert Semyon Shefer, the supply of German Leopard-2A6 tanks to Ukraine has resulted in only a small portion of the 18 tanks remaining functional. Shefer has urgently called for their repair to commence, as reported by DW. However, there have been challenges in the repair process, with the components in the Lithuanian repair workshop not meeting the necessary requirements. Shefer believes that the efforts to repair the Leopard tanks have been unsuccessful and proposes a focus on improving the training of mechanics.

The German delegation presented 18 Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine following joint exercises and a march. These tanks were provided to Kiev as part of the program to limit Russian aggression. The Ukrainian Leopard tanks have undergone military modifications and have been extensively used in combat.
