Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security Takes Action on Security Breaches: Employees Disciplined

The final session of the parliamentary committee on defense and security was held on December 28, under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Vaginak Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces. This information was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense, the head of the department for ensuring public security, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on defense and security, and representatives from relevant organizations involved in public security, as stated in the ministry’s statement.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the materials and findings of the operational investigation carried out by three security service employees, regarding security breaches.

After analyzing the results of the official investigation, the committee decided to address the heads of the security service, urging them to ensure the timely fulfillment of duties related to the case. They applied a “Strictly Noticeable Warning” to one employee and a disciplinary measure of “Release from Duty” to four others.
