“Tragic Murder in Sisian: Investigation Reveals Shocking Details”

According to news reports, the investigation into the murder of a 66-year-old resident of Sisian city in the Republic of Armenia has made significant progress. The investigation, which involves criminal and administrative actions, as well as operational-intelligence measures, has shed light on the details of the crime.

On December 23, 2023, the “Sisian Central Hospital” CJSC received a notification regarding the death of a 66-year-old man who had been brought in by ambulance from Khandjyan Street in Sisian city. Initially believed to be due to natural causes, a forensic examination conducted during the investigation revealed signs of violence, including fractured ribs and internal bleeding.

Preliminary investigation findings indicate that on December 23, 2023, around 17:00, a heated argument took place between a 66-year-old man and a 35-year-old resident in the vicinity of an electric substation on Khandjyan Street in Sisian city. During the altercation, the 35-year-old individual allegedly retrieved a kitchen knife and attacked the older man, intending to seek revenge for their disagreement on life matters. The victim sustained fatal injuries to the chest and abdomen as a result.

The scene of the incident was meticulously examined, yielding several pieces of evidence, including broken dishes and the knife used in the crime. Forensic examinations were carried out, samples were collected, and witnesses were interviewed to gather additional information.

Based on the evidence obtained, the 35-year-old resident of Sisian city was formally charged with the murder of the 66-year-old victim under Article 155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. In response to a request from the prosecution, the court ordered the accused to be held in detention as a preventive measure in accordance with standard protocol.
