“Political Opposition Leader Calls for Reflection as Pashinyan Goes on Vacation: Armenia’s NA Criticized for Failing to Address Captive Soldiers and Oligarch Influence”

In the lead up to December 31st, there have been movements to turn off the TV and reconnect it on the 12th. This is due to Prime Minister Pashinyan going on vacation during this period. Today, on December 26th, the head of the “I Have Honor” faction, Hrayr Marukyan, made an announcement during the Mamuili Massis.

Marukyan acknowledged that there were mistakes made in the previous years, both objective and subjective. He mentioned that he is considering making a public statement regarding these mistakes, but does not feel it is his place to question the political decisions of his partners. He emphasized that it is not appropriate for the opposition party in the National Assembly to be the most revolutionary political figure in the central region of Armenia. Furthermore, he pointed out that the NA has not participated in any wars in the past 5 years.

Marukyan clarified that the National Assembly did not play a role in the recent phase of the war. He emphasized that they have always been on the side of the people. He questioned whose turn it is now and stressed that the NA cannot fulfill the desires of oligarchs and capitalists with a clear conscience. He expressed concern for those who are still in captivity despite the victory and freedom that has been achieved. He mentioned specific individuals and families who are affected by this situation.

Marukyan also mentioned that the programs of the National Assembly do not delve into details as it may impact their effectiveness. These updates come from Armenia.
