Tragedy Strikes Ararat Region: Two Hospitalized with Severe Intoxication as Car Explosion Shocks Community

On December 22nd, an alarming situation arose in the Ararat region, as two individuals were hospitalized due to severe intoxication. Martik Sevovyan, aged 21, and Hovhannes Manukyan, aged 38, both residents of the Ararat province, were brought to the hospital after exhibiting signs of first-degree intoxication of the face (with 2-3 percent intoxication) and first-degree intoxication of the conjunctiva (with both eyes affected).

The Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Armenia received a call at 02:30 from the Internal Affairs Department of Vaghashapat, reporting the incident. However, surgeries at the hospital have been put on hold until further notice due to inadequate medical conditions.

Further investigation revealed that the cause of the incident was a car fire in the village of Mrgastan at 00:30. An Opel vehicle owned by H. Manukyan caught fire and subsequently exploded due to a gas leak. Medical practitioners have provided a treatment plan to the surgeons, and healthcare workers have promptly informed the authorities about these developments.

The Opel vehicle brand has been identified as the one involved in this incident. Updates on this developing situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
