On December 18, N.S.O.T.T. Gregory the Second Patriarch and Supreme Catholicos of All Armenians received an honorary doctorate from the American University of Fordham for his contributions to theological knowledge in the Armenian Orthodox Church. The Information System of the Mother Cathedral reported this milestone.

Under the blessing of His Holiness, Father Hierarch pursued further education at Fordham University’s Faculty of Theology. He focused on protecting his theological thesis titled “The Problem of Escape from Spiritual Struggle in the Armenian Church in the New Millennium.” Additionally, he currently teaches at the Holy Hovhannes Church Armenian Seminary in New York.

By presenting his doctoral work to the Armenian Church, Ter Abraham emphasized its significance in the realm of theological knowledge. He believed that it provides an opportunity for young individuals to gain a deeper understanding of spiritual reality.

Expressing his joy, His Holiness acknowledged the involvement of religious institutions in spiritual growth and scientific endeavors. He emphasized the importance of continually enriching knowledge to enhance spiritual service.

The meeting concluded with His Holiness deciding to honor Ter Abraham for his devoted service by conferring him with a pastoral staff.
