“Russian President Vladimir Putin Nominated for Fourth Term by Coalition, Not Party Affiliation: Signature Collection Underway”

President Sergey Mirontov of the “Fair Russia-Honesty and Truth” coalition has announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been nominated for the position of the head of state. This nomination comes from the governing body of the coalition and is not affiliated with any particular party. Mirontov clarified that signature collection is currently underway to gather support for Putin.

During today’s meeting of the coalition’s coordinating council, it will be announced that Putin is not being nominated by either the “United Russia” party or our coalition. He is collecting signatures,” stated Mirontov.

Under current legislation, self-nominated candidates must collect 300,000 signatures in order to participate in the elections. Five candidates who have the support of Parnas have already been exempted from this requirement. The opposition coordinating council needs to submit 100,000 signatures to the Central Election Commission.

On December 8, Putin announced his plans for a fourth presidential term. Today, December 16, a meeting of electors supporting him will be held at the “Zaryadye” concert hall in Moscow. The presidential elections are scheduled to take place on March 17, 2024.

In addition to Putin, former Secretary of Defense Igor Strelkov and the head of the “Movement for the Right Forces” Boris Nadezhdin, who served as the Secretary-General of the “Yabloko” party, will also be nominated.

Gregory Yavlinsky, the chairman of the presidential electoral committee of the “Yabloko” party, will consider the possibility of his own presidential campaign if he receives 10 million signatures, as reported by “Kommersant”.
