“Yerevan Takes Important Steps Towards Field Improvements and Efficient Public Management with International Partners”
The city of Yerevan is making significant progress in improving various aspects of its operations, including the rapid supply of construction materials, better business processes, and accessible municipal services. These improvements are being carried out through the implementation of a program called “Improvement of Public Services, Financial Planning, and Accessibility through Management Technology,” which involves partnerships with international businesses. The objective of this program is to enhance public management at a national level and improve local self-government bodies, directly impacting the lives of residents and citizens. Mayor Tigran Avinyan is confident that real programs will soon be implemented, leading to a wide range of improvements in public management in Yerevan.
Over the years, the Municipality of Yerevan has established successful partnerships with international financial institutions, resulting in a transformative impact on these collaborations. The Armenia branch of the International Bank, headed by director Karolin Geghinyan, has been instrumental in implementing programs for public management improvement since 2004. The current pilot project aims to establish a numerical construction framework that will enable more efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly delivery of public services. These improvements are expected to create a more favorable business environment and promote the efficient and high-quality development of public services.
The initiative to improve Armenia’s national sector and successfully implement numerical transformation has garnered the support of the United Nations. The United Nations views this project as an indication of a new and effective methodology, and is funding the “Good Management Foundation” project in collaboration with the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Municipality of Yerevan. Through the use of management technology tools, this initiative aims to enhance institutional improvement, financial planning, and the accessibility of public services. The United Nations special envoy in Armenia, John Gallagher, expresses satisfaction with the program, which provides technological assistance and shares best practices to ensure more efficient provision of public services.
In addition to these efforts, online platforms and mobile applications will be made available to address the challenges faced by residents. The Municipality of Yerevan, along with the International Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the Ministry of High Technology, have signed a memorandum titled “Exchange and Cooperation in Transformation and Development of Public Management.” This collaboration seeks to foster the transformation and development of public management, furthering the accessibility and effectiveness of municipal services in Yerevan.
