“Prosecutor General’s Office Launches Criminal Proceedings Against Returning Soldiers from Azerbaijan: Actions of War Veterans Under Scrutiny”

The criminal proceedings related to the actions of the returning soldiers from Azerbaijan have begun in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia. The spokesperson of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Gohar Abrahamyan, made this announcement on December 13.

“All necessary criminal actions have been carried out in accordance with the respective regulations. The injured individuals involved in the military campaign are receiving ongoing medical treatment. Criminal proceedings have also been initiated against them and will continue until the process is completed,” Abrahamyan stated.

According to the spokesperson’s statement, several individuals who have recently returned from the war and are going through different stages of the demarcation line in various regions have been involved in incidents and clashes instigated by the enemy. Criminal actions will also be taken against them.

It is worth noting that on December 7, a joint statement was issued by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Armenia, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The statement announced the release of 32 Armenian prisoners of war by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the release of 2 Azerbaijani prisoners of war who had been sentenced by the Republic of Armenia.

The exchange of prisoners took place on December 13 at the Ghazakh-Ijevan border. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, published the names of the returned soldiers from Azerbaijan.
