“Armenian Chief of Staff Urges Armenians to Buy Local and Support Domestic Economy”
Arayik Harutyunyan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, has emphasized the importance of Armenians in Armenia and the Diaspora supporting Armenian products. In a Facebook post, he stated that buying Armenian agricultural products, food, and services from Armenian companies plays a crucial role in developing the economy and ensuring Armenia’s sovereignty and independence. He further suggested that if Armenian businesses expand their markets beyond the country’s borders, the LARS checkpoint between Armenia and Georgia could potentially be closed, giving domestic consumers access to both domestic and non-domestic markets.
In addition, Harutyunyan stressed the significance of using exclusively Armenian products for table settings during New Year and Christmas celebrations. He recommended including dried fruit, honey, wine, and other local products in these festive occasions. By doing so, individuals contribute to the promotion and support of the domestic market.
With this call for support, Harutyunyan highlights the importance of keeping the Armenian economy strong and self-sustaining. By prioritizing Armenian products, consumers not only stimulate local businesses but also strengthen the country’s economic independence. Furthermore, the potential closure of the LARS checkpoint illustrates the possible expansion of Armenian goods beyond its borders, which would enable both domestic and international consumers to enjoy the quality and variety offered by Armenian products.
During the holiday season, as celebrations bring people together, it is an ideal time to showcase the richness of Armenian cuisine and the diverse products originating from the country. By including exclusively Armenian products in New Year and Christmas table settings, individuals have the opportunity to support local farmers, producers, and businesses, while also experiencing the unique flavors and traditions of Armenia.
