Armenia Establishes Cooperation with Italian Revenue Agency to Combat International Tax Evasion

Public officials in Armenia have established cooperation with the Revenue Agency of Italy through the order of the chairman of the Public Council, Rustam Badasyan. The announcement was made by the Public Council’s Department of Information and Public Relations.

In a meeting on December 14, Rustam Badasyan, the chairman of the Public Council, stressed the significance of effective cooperation between Armenia and Italy in combating international tax evasion. They also discussed the successful implementation of programs by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the OECD’s Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) initiative.

The head of the Italian delegation, Paolo Valerio Barbanitini, emphasized the importance of collaboration in exchanging information and best practices for combating international tax evasion.

During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two bodies in advanced pricing agreements, transfer pricing audits, and the use of technical tools in tax and customs administration were also considered.

Given the mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in combating tax evasion, the parties reached an agreement to implement activities such as transfer pricing audits and the monitoring phase of advance pricing agreements. Additionally, a memorandum of cooperation between the Public Council and the Revenue Agency of Italy will be signed.

At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to implement the provisions of the memorandum of cooperation and ensure the ongoing progress of the collaboration.
