“Bloody Road Confrontation in Armenia: Retaliation Leads to Surgical Intervention for Shrapnel Injuries”

On November 24th, at 8:45 am, the NPH Crisis Management Center “Astghik” of the Ministry of Health reported that a 30-year-old resident of Parkar village had undergone surgical intervention for shrapnel injuries. The operation was performed at the medical center in Armevan, in collaboration with the Regional Administration of Ararat and the Department of Emergency Situations.

According to NEWS.am, an investigation into the incidents revealed that on November 24th, around 7:30 am, an unidentified individual approached the Yerevan-Ararat road near Parkar village in a Ford vehicle. The person opened the driver’s door and fired shots at the driver’s feet. In response, the victim, a 28-year-old resident of Yerevan, retaliated.

Upon learning about the incident, the 28-year-old along with two friends met with the authorities on November 24th at 7:00 pm near the “Toyota” dealership. They attacked the perpetrator with a baton when he sat in his car, a Ford, resulting in his injuries.

Following investigative and operational measures conducted by law enforcement agencies from the Department of Emergency Situations in Ararat, the 28-year-old was detained on December 8th and charged related to the incident. He was summoned for questioning, signed relevant documents, and appeared before the Investigative Department of the Department of Emergency Situations in Vagharshapat. Ongoing investigations are taking place.

On December 8th, the Department of Emergency Situations in Vagharshapat executed an operation in collaboration with individuals aged 26 and 32, resulting in a positive outcome of their investigative and operational actions. The operation is still ongoing.
