“European Court of Human Rights Rejects Complaints of Former Judges in Landmark Case against Armenia”

The European Court of Human Rights recently released its decision on the case “Gyumlyumyan and others v. Armenia” (case number 25240/20). In this case, the grievances brought forth by three former judges of the Constitutional Court and the complaints of the former President of the Constitutional Court were deemed inadmissible by the European Court of Human Rights. The representative of Armenia at the International Judicial Committee conveyed this information in response to international inquiries. The grievances presented were related to the violation of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as stated in various articles of the European Convention on Human Rights. The applicants were also accused of abusing their positions, either in a general or specific manner. In defense, the government of the Republic of Armenia argued that the complaints were inadmissible and did not infringe upon the rights of the applicants. The decision of the European Court of Human Rights is final and cannot be appealed, according to the statement.
