The President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachatryan, has accepted an invitation from Naseem Nicholas Taleb, the Minister of Economy who is also known for his expertise in mathematics and philosophy. The president’s office made the announcement regarding their meeting, which took place during Taleb’s visit to Armenia for the “Knowledge and Entrepreneurship 2023” event organized by the Ministry of Economy. The discussions during their informal meeting primarily revolved around Taleb’s thought-provoking philosophical essay series, “Incerto,” published between 2001 and 2018, and its relevance to political and socio-economic developments. The book has been translated into Armenian and presented by the “Komb” Foundation and the “Antares” publishing house.

The meeting delved into various topics, including chaotic systems, the principles of living in a chaotic world, and the application of philosophical and economic theories. In his speech, Taleb also expressed his admiration for Armenia’s remarkable biodiversity, particularly emphasizing the importance of preserving the natural habitat of the Armenian Highlands. Furthermore, the discussions touched upon current advancements in education and the integration of technology to foster the country’s overall socio-economic progress.

Highlighting Armenia’s commitment to innovative education, the President mentioned the construction of two “QOAF SMART Centers” in Syunik. As a gesture of cooperation, an invitation was extended to Naseem Nicholas Taleb to visit Armenia and explore potential collaborations further.
