“Controversial Nomination Shakes Up Alaverdi: Armenian Revolutionary Federation Faces Dissatisfaction Within Ranks”

In a report by the “Valid” newspaper, it has been revealed that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) has chosen Arakdi Tamazyan, a member of the “Armenian Cause” movement, as the mayoral candidate for the Alaverdi community. This decision comes after former ARF member and head of the community’s police, Surik Papikyan, expressed his dissatisfaction. Tamazyan has been involved in various controversial activities concerning the community.

One notable incident took place in March 2018 when the village mayor, Davit, held a meeting with the villagers to address allegations made against him following the publication of investigative articles. Another scandal involving Davit Ghumashyan, the ARF leader at the time, occurred in July of the same year. Journalist Davit Ghumashyan has also faced criticism in publications like Mamoul regarding his investigative work.

Furthermore, there have been discussions within Alaverdi regarding possible instances of corruption involving Ghumashyan, who currently leads the ARF faction in the community, and his role in governance. To shed light on this situation, the talk show hosted by the newspaper will feature representatives from the “Armenian Cause” political party, Mesrop Arkelyan, and the spokesperson of the “Armenian National Congress” party, Levon Zurabian. More details can be found in today’s newspaper.
