US State Department Condemns Netanyahu’s Response to Gaza Conflict, Says Israel Provided “Dim Light”

The United States believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has provided Israel with “dim light” in the face of military operations in the Gaza Strip, according to the State Department. Khalil al Hayyan, a member of Hamas, made this statement during an interview with Al Jazeera television. Al Hayyan criticized the US president for supporting Israel and providing assistance and political protection during times of Israeli aggression.

Israeli Kan television reported that Netanyahu recently completed his visit to Israel and met with the Arab League regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, following the resumption of military operations. Al Hayyan emphasized that resolving the issue of prisoners and detainees cannot be achieved during military operations. He suggested that military activities should be halted first, followed by negotiations with prisoners.

Al Hayyan also highlighted the importance of allowing the free movement and safety of civilians, including children. Amnesty International’s representative echoed this sentiment, stating that freedom of movement should be guaranteed according to international law. Al Hayyan further stated that Hamas is ready to cooperate in releasing hostages to ensure the freedom of the civilian population.
