“Alvad’s Local Politics in Turmoil: Head of ‘Country of Honor’ Initiative Voices Concerns Over Internal Attitude of Prime Minister”

There is no personal interest on my part to initiate impeachment proceedings against the Prime Minister. This was emphasized by Ara Tamazyan, the elected head of the “Country of Honor” initiative in Alvad, during an interview with NEWS.am.

It is worth noting that Ara Tamazyan, who is also the commander of Alvad CPA, has filed a petition expressing his dissatisfaction with Arkaadi Tamazyann’s internal attitude as a member of the “Country of Honor” initiative. Tamazyan intends to resign from his position as mayor.

Tamazyan clarified that the working process of the “Country of Honor” initiative began 1-2 months ago, but it has not yet been completed. According to the law, it will not be possible to fully implement the initiative for at least a year. “However, they have already started the process when one member of our group approached them aggressively. This member now holds a significant position and is attempting to suppress our stance,” Tamazyan explained.

According to Tamazyan, this situation poses challenges to the functioning of the government. “Despite our desire to work effectively, there are obstacles hindering the work of the Central Committee and public opinion. This means we are unable to implement programs, allocate financial resources, or carry out civil initiatives,” Tamazyan stated.

He announced that the Central Committee of Alvad specifically wants the Prime Minister to support their candidate for the mayoral position. “However, it is not their decision, it is the people’s decision. Until the final process is concluded, Aram Mkrtchyan will remain the commander of the Central Committee. I fail to understand what is happening. They have already implemented some programs and presented unreasonable audits, which has worsened the situation for our committee members,” Tamazyan expressed.

Tamazyan admitted that he is determined to fight until the end. “The most important thing is that the people have chosen us, and we will not allow anyone to silence their voice. I have received various offers to resign from this fight, but I have declined,” he declared.
