“5.0 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks China’s Yunnan Province, Tremors Felt in Multiple Cities”

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake recently struck the city of Manaschi in the Dehong-Dai-Jingpo prefecture of China’s southwest Yunnan province. The China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported this seismic activity and promptly shared the data with the Seismological Station in Sinhuan.

The earthquake originated from a hypocenter located 10 km beneath the Earth’s surface. Its impact was strongly felt in various areas, including the cities of Lincang and Baoshan, as well as in the Dali Bai Autonomous prefecture.

The epicenter of the aftershocks was situated 476 km away from Kunming, which serves as the administrative center of Yunnan province.
