Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Explores Opportunities for EU-Armenia Cooperation in Prime Meeting

On November 27, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan paid a visit to Armenia’s External Relations and European Cooperation Department as well as the European Council. During this visit, he engaged in discussions surrounding various external activities, migration and internal affairs, investigations and innovations, and cooperation between international organizations. One of the highlights of the visit was Pashinyan’s meeting with Panos Hovhannisyan, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Europe.

According to NEWS.am, the meeting between Pashinyan and Hovhannisyan revolved around the implementation of the EU-Armenia partnership agreement. They also explored potential opportunities to expand cooperation, particularly in areas that enhance mutual understanding and capabilities in media coverage and existing resources.

Hovhannisyan provided an overview of the security situation in Armenia and discussed the measures taken to ensure security in the border region between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Additionally, he shared insights on the activities aimed at regulating and promoting regional cooperation and intercultural dialogue between the two countries.

This visit underscored the significance of the monitoring mission for the comprehensive and enhanced partnership agreement between the EU and Armenia. It serves as a crucial step in ensuring the successful implementation of this agreement on Armenian soil.
