“Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) to be Tested in US: New Advancements in Speed and Power Await”

In the United States, plans are underway to test the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) in the first trimester of 2024. These missiles have already been successfully tested in the New Mexico desert.

Lockheed Martin has stated that the greatest challenge of the PrSM is its speed, as the hypersonic capabilities are still being tested and perfected.

An article from American Breaking Defense mentions that the PrSM has the capacity to hit targets up to 85 kilometers away.

Despite its high speed, it is important to note that the PrSM is not classified as a hypersonic weapon, as reported by RIA Novosti. The United States forces are anticipated to receive these missiles by the end of 2023. The initial plan was to acquire 3,986 PrSM missiles, but due to the cancellation of the ATACMS by the Ukrainian manufacturer Ukrinmash, the order is being extended in Washington.

According to Breaking Defense, Lockheed Martin is currently working on an upgraded version of the PrSM called LBASM (Land-Based Anti-Ship Missile).

The third version of the LBASM, as per preliminary plans, is expected to have a larger payload and double the range of the missile.

Lockheed Martin confidently claims that their new missile will greatly streamline multiple-domain combat operations at a tactical level by integrating both kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities. Furthermore, PrSM launchers can also serve as platforms for launching drones that are capable of delivering ammunition to enemy A2/AD systems.

These are the latest updates on the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) and its upcoming tests and enhancements in the United States.
