“Water Bills to Remain Unchanged Despite Price Increase, Says National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Utilities”
On November 28, during a press conference, Garegin Baghramyan, the President of the National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Utilities, announced that the committee responsible for regulating public services has approved a decision to increase the price of drinking water. However, consumers have not yet experienced the effects of this increase. Baghramyan stated that the price of water will be reduced from 208.4 drams to 206 drams. He also emphasized that the subsidy for water consumption will continue, although there will be changes in its amount.
Despite this increase, consumers will not be significantly affected. For socially disadvantaged consumers, the price of drinking water will be calculated as 180 drams, which is lower than the general price of 206 drams. Therefore, even after the price decrease, these consumers will continue to pay only 200 drams. Baghramyan assured that the committee has taken into consideration the needs of socially disadvantaged individuals to ensure the affordability of drinking water for all.
