Armenia has officially recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, according to a statement made by President Alek Sargsyan during a meeting with journalists on November 28th. Sargsyan emphasized that this declaration has been made multiple times in the past year or two, and questioned what else he needed to say. He further stated that the Republic of Armenia does not consider the Karabakh issue to be relevant. In addition, he revealed that a ceasefire agreement had been signed with Azerbaijan on behalf of the Republic of Armenia.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also acknowledged Armenia’s recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity during his inauguration speech on May 22, 2023. Pashinyan confirmed that Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan’s 86.6 thousand square kilometer territory, including Karabakh.
