“Armenia Set to Change National Emblem: Constitutional Court and Government Approve Monumental Design Shift”
The national emblem of Armenia is undergoing a change, as approved by various authorities including the Constitutional Court, the government building, judiciary, and legislative bodies, as announced on the official website of the Armenian government.
According to reports, the parliament held its inaugural session on November 28 to discuss and approve the “Law on the National Emblem of the Republic of Armenia,” which proposes modifications to the emblem and its design.
The proposed changes suggest transitioning from the heraldic style to a more realistic representation, reminiscent of the sun’s rays. The development of the new concept involved mathematical calculations, drawings, and related work, as stated in the report. Zhushup Matev, one of the authors involved in the process, mentioned that the original version of the emblem was initially designed to resemble the rays of the sun.
