US Ambassador to Armenia Visits Ankara to Address Peacekeeping in Nagorno-Karabakh and Financial Issues, Urges US Support. Turkish Companies Warned About Violating Sanctions by Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg, the United States Ambassador to Armenia, Brian Nelson, is scheduled to visit Ankara to address the preservation of peacekeeping efforts in Nagorno-Karabakh between Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), as well as discuss the financial situation. During his visit, Nelson plans to meet with his Turkish counterparts and seek support from the United States for peacekeeping initiatives. Additionally, Bloomberg has reported that the United States has cautioned Turkey regarding potential violations of sanctions by several Turkish companies in their business connections with the Western financial system.

Amidst unresolved differences between Turkey and the United States, Nelson’s visit comes at a time when new challenges have emerged. Turkish leadership perceives the ongoing crisis not as a consequence of their negligence, but as a movement to liberate their people from the oppression of occupying forces.

Furthermore, Turkey aims to restore its relationship with the United States and gain support from President Joe Biden for the purchase of F-16s, as well as normalize its military operations.

Conversely, the US government recently announced an expansion of sanctions on foreign activities in response to the involvement of 130 physical and legal entities aiding Russia in its military operations through the provision of technology for military production. In an effort to facilitate technology and military production for Russia, the United States has imposed sanctions on nearly twenty Turkish companies and various individuals associated with the Armenian lobby.

The United States has also deployed peacekeepers to the region, with Turkish companies participating in the management of a port facility named after the OSCE mission. Furthermore, individuals affiliated with the OSCE are involved in these efforts to support Russia.
