“Major Highway Renovation Complete: Ararat Region Rejoices with Improved Connectivity to Meghri Border”

The renovation works of the stretch of the H-76, M-5 / Aknalich – Meghri highway from km0+000 to km2+050 have been completed. According to the “Road Department” foundation, the road passes through the village of Taronik in the Ararat region. The head of the administrative department of Taronik, Artur Karapetyan, stated that before the renovation, the road was in poor condition and had undergone several renovations in the last ten years.

After the renovation works of the middle section of this stretch, which is about 2 km long, a well-organized road leading to the Meghri border checkpoint has now been established. It is worth mentioning that in 2019, a 4.1 km section of the road was renovated, and in 2020, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, about 1,143 km of the Mayis Avenue leading to the “Meghri” historical and cultural complex-border checkpoint was constructed.

The renovation of this highway section is significant as it improves transportation in the Ararat region. The historical and cultural complex-border checkpoint is a unique attraction that generates excitement among tourists in the region.

The contractor has assured that the renovated road will serve the residents for a long time, providing them with improved access and convenience. This development is good news for the people of Taronik and the entire Ararat region.

Overall, the completion of the renovation works on this highway stretch is a positive step towards enhancing infrastructure and promoting tourism in Armenia. It is expected to have a significant impact on the transportation and economic development of the region.
