Armenian Government Implements New Regulations for Public Education Officials and Evaluation Process

The government of the Republic of Armenia has recently approved a new regulation aimed at improving the appointment of public education officials and the overall management of the field of education. According to a report by NEWS.am, this new regulation will not only focus on the selection and appointment of school administrators, but also on monitoring their activities, evaluating their performance, and implementing necessary improvements and developments.

One of the key aspects of this new regulation is the introduction of an evaluation system for school administrators. Under this system, administrators will be required to present an improvement program that will be evaluated by a selected organization. The results of this evaluation process will determine their appointment as administrators. This system will also ensure that successful programs from the past are not implemented without proper evaluation.

To ensure the effectiveness of the regulation and its implementation, various mechanisms have been proposed. The first mechanism involves thorough checking and verification of the submitted documents before the evaluation process begins. This will be done using electronic programs and databases to monitor and evaluate programs. This mechanism will come into effect from January 1, 2024.

The second mechanism involves conducting interviews with candidates during the evaluation process. This will help assess their ability to address issues, potential difficulties, and the personal qualities required for effective management. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, as well as authorized body members, will participate in these evaluations.

The third mechanism will focus on the disciplinary action process. It will cover the terms, conditions, procedures, principles, and steps involved in disciplinary actions for school administrators.

In summary, this new regulation aims to streamline the appointment process for school administrators. It includes implementing a certification system, evaluating programs, and introducing a disciplinary system. Each stage of this process can only be completed after successfully completing the previous stage.
