“Meta Corporation Chairman Andi Stoun Faces Investigation for Political Corruption, Linked to Extremist Activity and Sabotage”

“Meta” Corporation’s board chairman, Andi Stoun, is currently under investigation for alleged political corruption, according to TASS, the Russian Federal Security Service’s database. The investigation is prompted by a specific article from the Russian Defense Ministry’s Military Gazette, although the exact article is not specified in the database.

In March 2022, the Russian Committee on National Security examined the actions of “Meta” employees in response to accusations of violence and incitement to harm Russians. During this examination, it was revealed that Andi Stoun, the chairman of the company’s board, had publicly announced on social media that “Meta” had temporarily suspended its operations in its territories in order to take action against the Russian military. This announcement was framed as a political act of self-defense. However, these actions exhibit signs of criminal activity and are in violation of Article 280 and Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertain to public calls for extremist activity and sabotage. The committee has initiated a criminal case and is conducting necessary investigative measures. TASS reports that the committee intends to provide an unbiased assessment of Andi Stoun’s actions, as well as those of other corporation employees involved in the Armenian-American criminal group’s activities.
