“Brent Crude Oil Price Drops as Libyan Oil Production Resumes”

The price of Brent crude oil fell in the main oil-producing region of Libya on Monday morning after the lifting of the blockade and the resumption of production.

On the ICE Futures in London, the futures contracts of Brent crude oil for March delivery fell by 0.42 percent to $78.23 per barrel, $0.78 lower than the previous close. On Friday, these contracts fell to $78.56.

Meanwhile, the futures contracts of WTI crude oil for February delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose by 0.34 percent to $73.16 per barrel. The value of these contracts had fallen by 0.9 percent to $73.41 in the previous trades. The deadline for February contracts expires on Tuesday.

The most actively traded futures contracts in March are expected to increase by 0.42 percent to $72.94.

This past week, Brent fell by 0.3 percent, while WTI fell by 1 percent.
