The polar vortex has made its way from villages to the Great Lakes, resulting in a severe winter weather warning for 14 million Americans, as reported by NBC News.

Meteorologists are predicting lower than normal temperatures, with sub-zero temperatures up to 15 cm in some areas, stretching from Nuevo Mexico to Kansas and Oklahoma to the Upper Midwest.

The temperature is expected to drop 5 to 30 degrees below normal, according to NBC News.

This polar air is moving towards major cities in the central and eastern parts of the country, affecting them as well.
