“Director of Anti-Corruption System Exposes Government’s Undermining of Institutions, Calls for Political Change”

In recent years, we have experienced a period of political and economic instability. Today, on November 24th, during a session in the National Assembly, Avedik Chalabyan, the director of the “Hayk” anti-corruption system, addressed this issue.

According to Chalabyan, the current government, despite the public’s demand for political change, judicial reform, and protection of human rights, continues to undermine the foundation of our institutions. Their actions aim to consolidate their power and replace the government.

Chalabyan emphasized that the current administration has strayed from their responsibilities according to the constitution and established regulations. They have resorted to personal persecution of citizens who challenge their authority.

He stated, “Today, we find ourselves in a situation where the political power responsible for the occupation of Artsakh has built a solid foundation over the years through violent state-building.”

The struggle for the Armenian Genocide’s international recognition and the protection of Armenian rights in Artsakh is part of our people’s continuous fight for a national state and the establishment of necessary institutions.

Unfortunately, the Republic of Armenia denies the solemn act of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and has banned foreign activists from entering the country to thwart similar actions.

Chalabyan expressed, “The sword and shield, in a metaphorical sense, may provide hope for some, but for many, it becomes a burden that fuels conflict, enmity, loss, and greater retribution. It is essential to fight for the national security and human rights of our nation.”

He called on all National Assembly members, especially those in power, to respect the will of the people, the constitution, and the law, and engage in discussions regarding the “Hayk” daily newspaper, where his speech is published.

It is worth mentioning that the “Hayk” newspaper has proposed a project in the CO newspaper of Armenia, which suggests taking preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future. The project also advocates for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the annexation of Artsakh from the Republic of Armenia, which poses a risk to the country.
