Tragedy Strikes at Ukrainian-Polish Border: Second Driver Killed in Road Blockade Dispute

On November 23, a tragic incident occurred near the Cherkasy-Krakow checkpoint on the Polish border. The driver of a Ukrainian truck sadly lost their life in this unfortunate event, as reported by SusaŃ–ne. The Ukrainian International Road Carriers Association confirmed that the deceased, a 56-year-old individual, was driving a car with Polish license plates. Sadly, this marks the second fatality at the Ukrainian-Polish border, an area where Polish road carriers operate, according to Lenta.ua.

Since November 6, Polish carriers have taken a stand by blocking the Ukrainian border with Poland, resulting in the hindrance of transportation of goods and passengers. This has caused significant disruption and has been a cause of concern for both nations. In response to this situation, the Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw has formally reached out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland and submitted a note demanding limitations on truck transportation, as reported by UNIAN.
