“City Residents Rise Up Against Environmental Violations: Protest Targets 3rd District Government Building”

A group of city residents gathered early in the morning near the 3rd district government building to organize a protest. They are expressing their dissatisfaction with the authorities due to violations of environmental regulations, which reportedly occurred yesterday at the National Assembly.

It is important to note that on November 22, during the second and final reading of the water code amendments, a proposal was accepted. The proposal stated that the water monitoring systems used by environmental inspectors in Armenia, which currently receive water from official pipelines, should only use water from the local water supply network. However, Hakob Simidyan, the head of a regional administration, has announced that these systems should be allowed to use at least 40 percent of the local water.

In recent events unfolding in Armenia, concerned citizens have taken their grievances to the streets. Early in the morning, a group of residents gathered near the 3rd district government building to organize a protest. Their main point of contention lies in what they perceive as a violation of environmental regulations by the authorities.

The incident in question took place at the National Assembly on the previous day. It involved the acceptance of a proposal during the water code amendments’ second and final reading on November 22. The proposal stipulates that the water monitoring systems utilized by environmental inspectors in Armenia, which currently draw water from official pipelines, should solely rely on the local water supply network. However, Hakob Simidyan, the head of a regional administration, has voiced his disagreement, advocating for these systems to utilize at least 40 percent of the local water.
