“Political Gridlock: National Assembly of Artsakh in Three-Month Standstill as Salary and Session Issues Persist”

The “Iravunk” newspaper reports that there is a consensus among political figures regarding the National Assembly of Artsakh’s need to hold sessions and receive payment. However, the current session system is unable to address salary-related issues. Besides technical and financial factors, this matter is also on the agenda of the Armenian government as per the Constitution. Representatives refrain from commenting on the matter due to lack of significant differences with the Armenian government. As a result, the National Assembly of Artsakh has not held sessions for the past three months, and there are two empty seats in the session hall.

Arthur Harutyunyan, the leader of the “Free Homeland-KMD” faction, is currently occupying the session’s place, but the petition filed by former chairman David Baghdasaryan of the “United Fatherland” faction was withdrawn after the appointment of the acting prime minister at the initiative of the legitimately elected ruling party. For more detailed information, refer to the article printed today in “Iravunk” newspaper.
