“Extreme Weather Shuts Down Popular Ski Resorts: Interstate Road Closed in Armenia”

On November 21, at 09:30, the Rescue Service reported the closure of the interstate road from Jermuk’s ski resort to Sisian’s ski resort (Saravan mountain range) due to adverse weather conditions.

Furthermore, the Rescue Service stated that there are also difficult roads to navigate within the territory of the Republic of Armenia. These challenging routes include the Lanzhik-Mastara and Saravan-Zangers highways, as well as the section of the village of Tsilkar and the slopes of Dilijan.

Additional caution is advised in certain areas, such as “Megeru Sar”, Gorki-Zanger, and Saravan-Zanger, where the use of snow chains is necessary. Meanwhile, the city of Abovian, the village of Akhuryan, and the province of Gegharkunik are reported to have icy conditions.

In various locations near Tigranashen (book) and along the Lanzhik-Mastara and Gyumri-Ashotsk-Bavra highways, there is also fog. Motorists should exercise caution while driving in these areas.
