Iran’s Foreign Minister Expresses Concern Over Possible Escalation of Military Operations in Gaza during Meeting with French Counterpart

Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, recently met with Catherine Colonna, his French business partner. During their meeting, Abdollahian expressed concern about the potential escalation of military operations if the situation in Gaza continues. According to Mehr, the minister separately met with France’s Minister of External Relations to discuss various important issues.

The discussions between Abdollahian and the French Minister of External Relations focused on the expansion of bilateral relations between Iran and France, as well as the broader region. They delved into topics such as military operations, humanitarian assistance, and the peaceful transition of power. Abdollahian highlighted the importance of avoiding an escalation of the war, and he noted that the French Foreign Minister shares this view.

“We have been warning about the consequences of ongoing military operations in Gaza,” Abdollahian emphasized. “It is distressing to witness the indiscriminate killing of civilians and the displacement of children and other innocent civilians in Palestine as a result of the actions carried out by certain Western countries, particularly the United States.”

In response, the French Foreign Minister conveyed Tehran’s proposed “positive solution” to prevent the further spread of the war across the region. The minister emphasized the necessity of using all available means to protect civilians during wartime. Additionally, ensuring the availability of humanitarian aid and accessible resources was deemed crucial.
