Swedish Ambassador Patrik Svensson recently met with the authorities of the Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia to explore opportunities for supporting disaster relief efforts. The main objective of the Swedish delegation’s visit was to gain insight into Armenia’s emergency response operations, particularly in the wake of recent incidents. The Swedish Embassy in Yerevan shared this update on their official Facebook page.

During the meeting, the Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia provided an overview of the current situation, with a focus on ensuring the safety of the population in areas affected by natural disasters. Additionally, there was discussion about the potential for cooperation between the people of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and if possible, finding a way to reconcile differences between their leaders.

The Swedish delegation’s visit spanned various regions of Armenia, including the border area with Azerbaijan. Their activities fall under the umbrella of overall cooperation between Sweden and Armenia, which also encompasses the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
