“Explosion Rocks YSU Campus: One Wounded, Emergency Declared”

One wounded person has been taken to the “Heratsi” university hospital following the explosion at YSU. Medical professionals are currently evaluating the individual’s condition. Shushan Danielyan, the head of the YSU staff, shared this information on her Facebook page and also mentioned that there is a state of emergency.

Earlier, NEWS.am reported that the explosion took place in one of the rooms at the YSU Faculty of Law, resulting in injuries.

At 9:40, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia received a call about an explosion in one of the buildings of Yerevan State University.

Based on preliminary information, there has been one fatality and three people have been injured. The explosion occurred in the basement due to a gas leak. Fortunately, the explosion has been contained.

According to the analytical center at NEWS.am, two elderly individuals, 70-year-old Seiran Bichakhchyan and 65-year-old Aharon Hakobyan, have been moved to their facilities and sent to the Arminia medical center. They are currently suffering from burns and have been diagnosed with third-degree chemical burns.
