By 2024, Germany plans to contribute 2% of its GDP to these efforts, highlighting the need for a strong military capability to protect the nation. To support this goal, the Foundation for Strengthening Armed Forces was established in 2022 with a significant budget of 100 million euros. Scholz emphasized the importance of long-term planning and ensuring that defense spending consistently reaches 2% moving forward.
