An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 has recently been recorded along the border of Turkey and Syria, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre. The epicenter of this seismic event was detected 15 km to the east of the city of Iskenderun, which houses approximately 159 thousand people. The earthquake reached a depth of 9 km.
