“Regulatory Commission and Water Authority Discuss Use of Public Service Funds for Investment Programs: Responsibility Unclear, Urgent Revision Needed”

The National Commission responsible for regulating public services recently held a discussion with the Water Authority to explore the possibility of utilizing the funds collected through public service fees for investment programs. During the meeting, Tigran Avinyan, Chief of Staff at Yerevan City Hall and a member of the commission, expressed uncertainty regarding the responsible entity for this project. Additionally, Kamoyar Avinyan, the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, confirmed that the project has not yet been accepted. However, the director of “Veolia Water” mentioned in a conversation fifteen days ago that significant investments have been made in the ongoing works in Yerevan.

In light of these developments, Avinyan expressed concern and emphasized the need for urgent discussions regarding the revision and possible issues with the project. He highlighted the importance of continuing with the program but acknowledged that the Public Services Commission is likely responsible for addressing any concerns. Further understanding and planning are crucial to ensure successful implementation.
