The US Ambassador to the EU, Antony Blinken, recently had discussions with the high representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, regarding the current situation in the gas sector. This development was reported in a press release by the EU External Action Service. During a phone call on Friday, Ambassador Blinken emphasized the importance of protecting citizens affected by the gas crisis and providing humanitarian assistance. He also highlighted US priorities, which include the safe exit of European citizens from the gas-affected areas and the release of detainees.

Furthermore, on Friday, Ambassador Blinken successfully concluded his trip, which included visits to Israel, India, Jordan, and Japan. During his time in Tel Aviv, he asserted US support for Israel’s right to self-defense and engaged in discussions concerning the protection of the rights of American citizens, the release of detainees, and the provision of humanitarian assistance.
