Armenia Inches Closer to Signing Agreement on Audience Measurement Services

A draft agreement on the registration of audience measurement services in Armenia has been signed and is expected to be finalized soon. During a discussion in the National Assembly on the implementation of the 2024 budget, the Minister of ES, Arman Navasardyan, emphasized the importance of aligning the views of the public and the authorities on the rights and preferences of the audience.

The minister also mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance Armenia’s involvement in various European programs, particularly in the areas of justice, education, innovation, climate change, promoting women’s roles, and aligning with other reforms. He highlighted that membership in the European Union would have positive implications for Armenia.

Additionally, the minister referenced the Prime Minister’s statement in the European Parliament, expressing Armenia’s readiness to be as close as possible to the European Union through the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). According to Hovhannisyan, this has always been Armenia’s position.

Hovhannisyan further explained that political cooperation has intensified, and this year marked the first bilateral discussion on Armenia-EU relations addressing political and security issues. The next phase of discussions is scheduled to take place in Brussels in November, following the previous meeting held in Yerevan in January.
