“Heroic Firefighters of Gegharkunik Province Extinguish Wildfires and Uncover Illegal Drugs and Weapons”

On October 29, the firefighters of Gegharkunik province in Armenia successfully extinguished and controlled a wildfire along the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway. They relocated the fire to the Sevan division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. As a result, a vehicle with the label “Mercedes” was transferred to a special storage area in the department. The young men’s efforts led to the discovery of over 3 kilograms of illegal drugs in the vehicle, according to the accompanying documents and statements from the individuals involved. The Sevan police department has now taken custody of the young men and related documents.

On October 31, using the necessary equipment, the firefighters of Gegharkunik province managed to extinguish and control a fire on Martuni-Kamo Street. They relocated the fire to a designated storage area in the Martuni department. Additionally, a vehicle belonging to a 38-year-old resident, a “VAZ-2107,” was also brought to the same storage area. During a search of the vehicle, the police found a pistol-like object and a loaded magazine. The young individuals involved in this incident have been apprehended and transferred to the relevant department. The related documents of the 38-year-old resident have been submitted to the Martuni police department.

On the same day, the firefighters of Gegharkunik province were able to extinguish and control a fire in a vehicle inscribed as “Mercedes.” The vehicle, which belonged to a 29-year-old resident of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway, was set ablaze by the 24-year-old driver. The driver tried to escape by jumping into the lake after putting a charcoal-like substance into the car’s cigarette lighter. However, the young individuals were apprehended and transferred to the fire department for further investigation. The related documents have been submitted to the Sevan police department.
