Yerevan’s Air Pollution Reaches Alarming 95% in Main Squares and Heavily Populated Areas, Ministry of Nature Protection Monitors Situation
Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, is facing severe air pollution with 95% levels in main squares and heavily populated areas. The government announced that 16 out of 19 monitored urban areas are located in the Erebuni district. Major pollutants include carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, and fine particulate matter. The Ministry of Nature Protection continuously evaluates the pollution level and plans to prioritize reducing it to 75%. Expansion of urban areas and improving air quality are crucial solutions.
