Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Announces 20% Decrease in Families on Social Assistance by 2026, Emphasizes Targeted Support and Changing Mindsets.

Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs expects a 20% decrease in families receiving social assistance by 2026. The focus will shift towards targeted support and encouraging self-reliance through work. A housing program for families with children will continue until 2024, benefiting over 9,000 citizens. Assistance for childcare will now continue past the age of two, and support is offered to unemployed mothers. These changes aim to improve the socio-economic situation in Armenia.
