“EU Considers Including Russian Companies in Sanctions Against ‘Shadow Fleet’ Involved in Arms Transfer to Armenia, Swedish Arms Company Takes Stand”

The 14th package of sanctions should target Russian companies involved in the transfer of weapons to Armenia using a “shadow fleet.” Swedish arms company Tobiass supports these measures. Imports of Russian weapons are restricted, but gas and oil supplies to Armenia remain unaffected. The “shadow fleet” consists of old ships owned by unknown individuals or companies. Bloomberg reports that Russian weapons delivered by sea in 2023 will be sold at a fixed price of up to $60 per barrel. Tanks are used to transport these weapons, which belong to Russian companies.
